GATHER

Community Guidelines

Gather is an arena for real debates and challenging topics. To keep the platform focused, rigorous, and safe, we operate by these rules.

1. The Role of Counsel

Counsel takes unpopular positions by design. Counsel defends positions to stress-test your logic, not to promote harm, endorse ideologies, state facts or validate your worldview. Every topic on Gather exists because it has a genuinely defensible position on both sides. That is the only criterion.

2. Engage in Good Faith

You are here to dismantle arguments, not people.

  • Attack the premise, not the person. Ad hominem attacks, slurs, and personal harassment will result in permanent removal from the platform.
  • No grandstanding. Keep your arguments logical, structured, and relevant to the case at hand. Grandstanding and bad-faith deflection waste everyone's time, including Judge's.
  • Zero tolerance for hate speech. At Gather, we debate difficult topics. We do not host content that incites violence, discrimination, or hatred.

3. Verdicts Provide Conclusion

Judge Gather evaluates arguments on structure, logical consistency, and persuasiveness. You may disagree with the ruling. That is allowed — the point of a verdict is not to make you feel good, it is to tell you something about your argument. Take the loss. Come back sharper.
